Student Enrollment Process

A step-by-Step guide to the Student, Provisional Instructor (PIL), and Student Instructor (SI) enrollment process is outlined below.

Enroll one student at a time or mass enroll multiple students

Things to know about Student, Provisional Instructor (PIL), and Student Instructor (SI) Enrollments: 
  • $10 per student Enrollment Fee for all enrollment types 
  • NAC 644.0479 (3-4) PIL Enrollments
  • NAC 644.048  (3-4) Student Instructor
  • Student enrollments must be entered into School Portal within 45 days of student program start date. (NAC 644.215  Registration of /students with the Board)
  • Students with transfer hours require board pre-approval for a Letter of Credit.(NAC 644.124 Transfer of Credit Hours) Please email Janie@nvcosmo.com or Bertha@nvcosmo.com for more information on transfer hours
  • Students with Felony Conviction(s) must submit the required documentation for review by Board Executive Director

Student Completions & Withdrawals

Upon completion of the students program or withdrawal from the program, school portal administrators have fifteen (15) days to complete either a student completion or student withdrawal.   Those processes are outlined below. Total hours completed and financial status are important components of the completion or withdrawal process.  The following regulations outline specifics about time records, completion and withdrawal submissions, and registrar duties.

Student Completion

Select New Completion Form from dashboard

Upload the Student Employer Notification Authorization.

Search student by first name, last name, or ST-#. Select complete by the students name.

Verify/Edit Student Information

Enter the students Completion information and select Next. 

Student Withdrawal

Enter students withdrawal date, hours earned, and financial status.  

Submitting Practical Scores

Prior to scheduling a student for their theory exam, their practical score must be entered into the School Portal.  The process for entering Practical Scores is outlined below.  Please visit the Board Examination Page for all forms associated with Practical Administration.   While score sheets are not submitted to the Board they should be retained in the students file.  Upon initiating the practical a student has thirty (30) days to complete; failed segments must be passed within the thirty (30) days for the scores to be valid.

Select the Enter Practical Score tab in the dashboard.

Search for the student and select Enter Score in the first column.

Enter the student's Practical information.

Schedule Theory & Law Testing

Theory Test Outlines and a Step-by Step guide to scheduling students, Provisional Instructors, and Student Instructors in NV Cosmo can be found below.

To schedule the student for the theory exam select the Schedule for Test tab. (The student must have passed the Practical exam).

Search for the student and select Schedule in the first column.

Update and verify the student’s information or select Next if no changes are required.

Complete the student's application questionnaire: Indicate Citizenship , Military Status, Child Support Compliance, Felony Information

Upload requested Student Documentation: Student Photo, Government Issued ID, Completed Testing Application, Work Authorization.

Verify the Test Location and select the student's test date.

Select the students test language, time, and testing station then select Schedule.

Verify testing selection and select make payment.
*If A Student Requires Special Accommodations or a Reader for the Test

 

At the time of submitting the  application, please supply the Board office with a copy of an IEP (Independent Education Plan) or a letter from a doctor stating the accommodation that may be needed. Please contact your local Board office to setup a test date and time for certain accommodations if available.
